Balanced dog training is a method of dog training that uses 4 quadrants of operant conditioning which is a combination of positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement and/or positive punishment and negative punishment to achieve a balanced approach to training. The goal of balanced dog training is to create a well-behaved dog that is obedient, happy, and safe. The key to balanced dog training is to use the appropriate method for the situation and to use each method in a humane and responsible way. This method of training is not one-size-fits-all and should be tailored to the individual dog’s needs and temperament.
